Can I sell physical parts?

Yes. Physical parts are listed on HartHaus and buyers purchase them from your own store. Your listing shows a Purchase button that opens your product page in a new tab, with the shipping regions you choose. HartHaus doesn't process the payment, take commission, or handle shipping or returns for physical parts — you're responsible for fulfilment on your store, and HartHaus doesn't inspect or guarantee physical products.

How much do physical listings cost?

Physical listings cost US$15 per month, billed by HartHaus through Stripe, for unlimited physical listings. GST applies at checkout for Australian billing locations and is shown before you pay. There's no trial or annual plan. Cancelling keeps access to the end of the paid period; after that your physical listings are hidden from buyers but not deleted. Physical-only workshops don't need to connect a Stripe payout account.

What file types can I upload?

You can upload digital products including CAD models (STL, STEP, OBJ), fabrication drawings (PDF, DXF), wiring diagrams, manuals, templates and other workshop resources. Where supported, HartHaus generates separate 3D previews. Public images, videos and model previews are downloadable content; do not include information in public previews that you need to keep confidential.

When exactly do I get paid?

Once you connect your Stripe account, payouts are handled automatically. Your earnings are transferred according to Stripe's standard payout schedule — no invoicing or chasing payments required.

What's the commission?

HartHaus takes a 10% commission when you make a sale. Stripe charges a separate payment processing fee, which is also deducted before your workshop is paid. That fee can have a greater impact on lower-priced sales, so keep it in mind when setting your prices. You can view Stripe’s current fees here.

Digital listings have no listing fees or monthly subscription. Physical listings are a separate optional plan — see above.

Can I sell both digital and physical products?

Yes. Digital products are sold through HartHaus checkout with a 10% commission. Physical parts can be listed alongside them with the Physical Listings plan (US$15 per month); buyers purchase physical parts on your own store, and you handle payment, shipping and returns there.

Who owns my files?

Accepted Answer

You retain ownership of your intellectual property. Uploading to HartHaus does not transfer your designs to us or to buyers. Purchasers receive only the rights set out under the relevant product licence and the HartHaus Terms — nothing more. Your original files remain yours.

Can I sell parts I didn't design?

Only upload work that you own or have permission to sell. You're responsible for ensuring your products don't infringe another person's intellectual property, copyright, or trademarks.

How are my designs protected?

Purchased source-file downloads require authorised order access and are time-limited. Public preview assets are accessible to visitors and are not a guarantee against reconstruction or copying. These measures help reduce unauthorised access and sharing, but cannot guarantee that a recipient will not copy or misuse a file.

Create your account, set up your workshop, and connect Stripe. New workshops are briefly reviewed before they go live to help keep HartHaus a trusted marketplace for builders and enthusiasts. Once approved, you can upload your first products and start selling.
